Obituary for Dorothy M. Klein (Becker)

Dorothy M. Klein (Becker)
Cuba City, Wisconsin

Dorothy M. (Becker) Klein, 94, a lifelong resident of rural Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Sienna Crest in Mineral Point.

The visitation for Dorothy will be held on Monday, November 21, from 3-7 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the Catholic Daughters rosary will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. prior to funeral service. The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Elk Grove, followed by the burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Father John Bosco Pudhota and Father Dave Flanagan will concelebrate the mass.

Dorothy was born to August and Rachel (Dixon) Becker on December 7, 1921, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin. On June 7, 1945, Dorothy married Cyril H. Klein, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City. During their 53 wonderful years together, Cyril and Dorothy lived, worked and raised 6 children on the family farm. Dorothy was an active member of the Catholic Daughters, St. Peter’s Altar Society, Red School Historical Society and also served as a 4-H Leader and a catechism teacher at St. Peter's Church. However, it was clear that “Grammy’s” greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and caring for her 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her children, John (Llala) Klein, of Cuba City, David (Connie) Klein, of The Villages, Florida, Judy (Charles) Timmerman, Duane (Sue) Klein, and Robert Klein, all of Cuba City; and a daughter-in-law, Barb (Ed) Beinborn, of Barneveld. She is also survived by her sisters, Rita Morgan, Carolyn Goedken, Geraldine Wilson and Patricia (Lyle) Heiderscheit, and sisters-in-law Nancy Becker, Marilyn Klein and Ruth Klein.

Dorothy is also survived by her grandchildren, Della Otradovec, Emily Moore, Kalee Klein, James “JJ” Klein, Wyatt Klein, Rachel Koth, Noelle Deiter, Kellie Ingersoll, Ryan “Dude” Timmerman, Karisa Timmerman, Kyle Timmerman, Jon Klein, Bethany Klein, Holly Parker, Tina MacKenzie, Kevin Klein, and Kristen Klein; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, August and Rachel (Dixon) Becker; her husband, Cyril Klein, her son, James “Sam” Klein, and infant son, Robert Charles Klein; her infant grandchildren, Cory and Rebecca Timmerman; her brothers, Forrest Becker, August Becker Jr. and Delvin Becker; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

The family is eternally grateful for the dignified and compassionate care of Casey Funeral Home, St. Croix Hospice, Sienna Crest Assisted Living, Epione Pavilion, Father Jim of St. Mary & St. Paul of Mineral Point, and Father John Bosco of Our Lady of Fatima, St. Peter's. Also, a special thank you to the many wonderful caregivers, especially Betty Dellabella and Judy Dirksen.

A Dorothy M. Klein Memorial Fund has been established.
